How we were given a Glorious view of what was to come…
In our individual pursuit to discover truth, Christ promised that: “…the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name”[1] will come to instruct us of things revealed during Jesus’ life that still remain hidden from our understanding, awaiting comprehension from future Church explanations worthy of belief. These remind us that our minds are finite compared to the infinite wisdom of the Creator of heaven and earth.
By God’s Grace, through the addition of the Luminous Mysteries, Blessed Pope John Paul II called for this important illumination on the path towards our “great goal” to know, love, and serve God in the image of Christ. The question remains to be answered if the expanded use of four sets of meditations with the original three mysteries to the Holy Rosary completes a Holy Week of Prayer to help us towards that goal or do they distract us from achieving that end? For the moment, God knows we must trust that in due time He will advise us what His Will is (despite the effort or opinion of this scribe) when Holy Mother Church decides. Amen. Amen indeed!
